Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf of Board of Education of Itasca School District 10, is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the Envelope Work at Raymond Benson Primary School as follows: Raymond Benson Primary School: Work includes a New Pre K Addition of approximately 7,500 SF. Bid Release 2 Work includes Building Envelope Work including Masonry, General Trades, Roofing, and Glass & Glazing Work. Construction to start summer 2022, and complete December 2022.

The last day for bidders' questions will be Monday, April 25, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Questions regarding the prequalification application procedure should be directed to Cheryl Janicki at 414/287-2649 or CJanicki@GilbaneCo.com. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from all Bidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted. Guarantee Bonds in the form of a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid will be required from the awarded Bidder. The work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents. "Failure to Comply With the Requirements of This Invitation to Bid Will Result in the Disqualification of the Bidder". This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties. Itasca School District 10 and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. All information submitted as part of this process shall be considered public information under the State Freedom of Information Act unless specifically disclosed on the applicable information by the Bidder. Challenges to such exemptions shall be defended solely by the Bidder. Bidders who are not pre-qualified in accordance with this Advertisement will have their bids returned unopened.
