Construction of a social housing residential development in Vancouver. The development is contemplated as a six storey concrete and wood frame development, however, additional density will be pursued as part of a rezoning application which could change the form of construction. TIMELINE: Request for Proposal to engage the services of an Architect as Prime Consultant for the project has closed and a preferred proponent has yet to be identified as of June 30, 2022. The project requires the Prime Consultant to lead an architect team and to establish and manage a team of design consultants in the disciplines required to complete the rezoning, schematic, and detailed design in addition to construction and post construction services. The project will be performed in two stages: Stage 1 includes all of the scope up to and including the Rezoning Stage; and Stage 2 includes all of the scope from post-Schematic phase, and Design Development phase through to project completion post-Construction. The award of the contract will be for the first stage and while the City prefers to complete the project with the successful Proponent, the City may or may not continue with the successful Proponent for the second stage. Further update in early fall 2022, pending selection of a preferred proponent. In order to receive the full scope of the Request for Proposal, Proponents are required to complete the Non-Disclosure Agreement. Construction budget is unreleased.
