**As of June 27, 2022 this project has been rejected, the bids came in far higher than the original estimate and the available funds.** The Work generally consists of providing all labor and materials necessary for the undergrounding of 35 existing overhead electrical services, including underground conduit and wire, concrete equipment pads, tenant metering switchboard, utility connection cabinets, and miscellaneous surface demolition and patching. Overhead services are to be cutover once new pad-mounted facilities are available in conjunction with Xcel Energy. Approximate Base Bid quantities are: o 4,600 LF Underground Conduit o 17,200 LF Wire o 1 Tenant Metering Switchboard o 1 Utility Connection Cabinet Approximate Alternate 1 quantities are: o 2,100 LF Underground Conduit o 7,400 LF Wire o 2 Utility Connection Cabinets. The provisions of MINN. STAT. 16C.285 Responsible Contractor are imposed as a requirement of this contract. All bidders and persons or companies providing response/submission to the Advertisement for Bids of the City of Excelsior shall comply with the provisions of the statute.
