Site work for a water / sewer project in Morton, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work generally consists of 14,400 LF of 4" and 6" water lines, and related items. The above general outline of features of the workdoes not in any way limit the responsibility of theContractor to perform all work and furnish all plant,labor, equipment and materials required by thespecifications and the drawings referred to therein. Contract time shall be 150 consecutive calendardays from the effective date shown in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed inthe amount of the actual costs incurred for eachconsecutive calendar day beyond the specifiedcontract time. Special Damages: In addition to the amounts provided for liquidated damages, expenses andother losses, Contractor, in the event of such default, shall pay to the Owner the actual costs,expenses and other losses reasonably incurred by Owner. Bidder must be qualified under Mississippi Law and show current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors establishing his classification as to the value and type of construction on which he is authorized to bid. Each Bidder shall write his Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of thesealed envelope containing his proposal. Proposals be submitted in duplicate, sealed anddeposited with the Town of Polkville, Mississippi prior to the hour and date hereinbeforedesignated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within90 days after the actual date of the openingthereof. Each Bidder must submit with his proposal aseparate attachment stating his qualifications toperform the work. The Statement of Qualifications Awarding public contracts to non-resident Bidders will be on the same basis as thenon-resident Bidder's state awards contractsto Mississippi Contractors bidding undersimilar circumstances. In order to ensurethat Mississippi's socalled Golden Rule isfollowed state law requires a non-residentbidder to attach to his bid a copy of hisresident state's current laws pertaining tosuch state's treatment of non-resident contractors. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal, a BidBond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent of his bid, payable to the Town of Polkville, Mississippi, as bid security. Bidders shall also submit a current financialstatement, if requested, by the Town of Polkville,Mississippi. The successful bidder will be required to furnish aPayment Bond and Performance Bond each in theamount of 100 percent of the contract amount. The work to be performed under this contract issubject to the requirements of Section 3 of theHousing and Urban Development Act of 1968, asamended 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, tothe greatest extent feasible, opportunities forcontracting, subcontracting, training andemployment arising in connection with this CDBGproject w and Section 3 residents. The Town of Polkville is an Equal OpportunityEmployer.
