Renovation of an educational facility in Greenville, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 6,500-square-foot educational facility.
As of June 14, 2022, the anticipated construction start date is on June 6, 2022. The School District of Greenville County (SDGC) invites responsible firms to submit a SEALED BID to install hardwood floors in five (5) classrooms at Greenville High School. The school is located at 1 Vardy St, Greenville, SC 29601. Project scope consists of five (5) separate classrooms with a total of 6,500 square feet (sf). The hardwood floor specifications are 3/4 "thick, 3 1/4 "wide tongue and groove, White Oak #1 common grade unfinished hardwood. The Contractor will nail the new hardwood floor to the subfloor, sand, stain and finished to match existing classrooms as close as possible with shoe mold installed to the existing base. The District will handle the demolition and disposal of the existing flooring and the installation of the new subfloor. Work may start on June 15, 2022 and with substantial completion by August 1, 2022 Inquiry Deadline: April 28, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. Inquiries Questions or comments regarding this solicitation document or the process shall be forwarded, in writing, to Mr. Jeffrey S. Knotts, Director of Procurement, and Mrs. Tonya Stroud, Senior Buyer, 2 Space Drive, Taylors, South Carolina 29687. Email addresses are: jknotts@greenville.k12.sc.us and tstroud@greenville.k12.sc.us. Inquiries and comments shall be delivered to the Procurement Department no later than April 28, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. Verbal questions/comments shall not be addressed at any time. After the Inquiry Deadline, the District will issue an addendum to address any questions or changes. Any addenda will be posted on the Procurement Department website. Questions and comments received after the Inquiry Deadline will not be addressed. Project Schedule The contractor will adhere to a strict project schedule, which stipulates work may start on June 15, 2022, pending an award and issuance of purchase order, and will be completed no later than August 1, 2022 subject to adjustments as provided in the Contract documents. The successful contractor may work evenings and weekends with at least a 24-hour notice and approval from the Facilities Project Manager. After hours work must be coordinated for security guard assistance. Security guard cost will be handled by SDGC. Prices stated on the Bid Form shall remain in effect for a minimum of sixty (60) calendar days from the due date. Pricing submitted shall be inclusive of all costs that the bidder expects the District to pay. Liquated Damages will be charged at five hundred dollars ($500.00) per calendar day Bid Security If the total bid amount exceeds fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), bidders shall submit Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Base Bid. The Bid Security must be in the form of a Bid Bond or Cashiers Check payable to The School District of Greenville County. No personal checks, company checks or cash will be accepted. Bid Security shall be submitted with the bid or the bid may be considered nonresponsive and not subject to an award. The District defined the total bid amount as the base bid. If the total bid amount is fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) or less, Bid Security is not required for this solicitation. Performance and Payment Bonds If the total amount of the awarded project exceeds fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), prior to work commencing, the successful Prime Contractor shall provide the SDGC Facilities Department Project Manager with Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the awarded contract cost Award This is a Sealed Bid solicitation. The project will be awarded as one (1) total lot to the lowest pricing, responsible bidder whose responsive bid is in the best interest of the District and at the discretion of the Districts evaluators. The District may conduct discussions with responsible Vendors that submit bids for the purpose of clarification to assure a full understanding of the requirements of the IFB and the clarification of any bid. Any award shall encompass all of the requirements of the solicitation. The initial period of performance begins after issuance of a Purchase Order. The District reserves the right to terminate this solicitation or resulting agreement upon a thirty (30) day notice, when in the best interest of the District. Termination of any contract by the District for cause, non-performance, default or negligence on the part of the successful Vendor shall be a retained right. Termination costs levied against the District shall not apply and the thirty (30) calendar day termination notice requirement shall be waived.
