This Project consists of approximately 1,100 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and catch basins of various material types and diameters. The Project will also include grinding and overlaying hot mix asphalt pavement, new cement concrete rolled curb and gutter, new cement concrete sidewalk, and other work. The Work is to be performed within the number of working days indicated on the bid proposal from the date of Notice to Proceed issued by the Owner and consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for all of the work necessary to complete the Surface Water Capital Improvements as shown on the drawings and as required for a complete and operating facility as specified in the contract documents. The Engineer's estimated costs for the work is a range of $590,000 to $640,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, postal money order, or bid bond made payable to the City of Des Moines in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Bid bonds shall be in a form satisfactory to the City Attorney. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory the bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit will be forfeited to the City of Des Moines. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding and to make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the bid opening.
