Renovation of a detention facility in Suffield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

Freezer replacement including floor at CT Department of Correction MacDougall CI. Mandatory pre-bid attendance, all attendees must submit a security clearance form one week prior to pre-bid. • Daily access into the freezer and for security. • Removal of old freezer panels and associated equipment to allow for access of personnel, materials and equipment. • Selectively straight saw cut the heaved CIP concrete slab +/- 5” from freezer wall into 2’ x 2’ cubes & remove to dumpsters (disposal included). • Excavate soils to remove broken defrost piping under the slab & dispose into dumpsters. • Place storm water infiltrator on compacted soils filled with crushed stone & covered with filter fabric • Install drain pipe into infiltrator & stub up. • Drill & pin perimeter of existing concrete with # 5 rebar in preparation for CIP concrete. • Bring in aggregate & bring to subgrade, compact. • Place 4” of rigid insulation on prepared subgrade. • Pour 5” of 4000# air entrained concrete with integral fiber mesh. Pull concrete cylinders for break analysis at Materials Testing Lab Inc. Results/reports to be provided to customer at end of project. • Ensure floor drain & Rectorseal trap sealer is installed. • Pitch concrete to drain. • Two-day cure & return to shot blast or grind fresh concrete to accept Dur-A-Flex Polycrete MDB floor system with an integral 6” cove base and topcoat in any standard color offered by Dur-A-Flex. Total thickness of ¼” for special flooring • Cure & place. • Install a new freezer unit complete with all associated equipment comparable to or to exceed the existing freezer unit in place currently. • Remove temporary door & relay masonry to close up opening. • CMU is by Westbrook Block Co – natural grey with natural grey mortar – Econo-Brick close possible match • General broom clean of work area & demobilize. • All specification and warranty documents to be submitted to DOC. at the beginning of the project
