Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Marshalltown, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility; fire / police facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Project Scope: Marshall County is seeking bids for partial renovation of the Sheriff's Office and Jail Complex located in Marshalltown, lowa. The project involves interior and exterior renovations. Scope of work will include, but is not limited to: Interior renovation / reconfiguration of holding cells, a single user restroom, exterior window replacement and renovation of rooftop mounted HVAC units and other HVAC upgrades at the Marshall County Sheriff Office and Jail. Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Form and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check provided ahead of time or a certified check drawn upon a solvent bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America and provided ahead of time. If providing bid security in forms other than a bid bond, then the bid security must be hand delivered and provided ahead of time. $50.00 refundable plan deposit or Master Builders of lowa MBI Card that will be refundable with return of the construction documents. Marshall County anticipates contract administration period to be completed by June 30, 2026 with Construction starting approximately September 8, 2025. Contractor may complete the project before the Owner's anticipated completion date and may indicate the Contractor's anticipated completion date on the bid form. Question Deadline 08/16/2025 Questions should be submitted, in writing, no later than 10 days prior prior to Bid. to the Architect, To be given consideration. Marshall County reserves the right to award the contract to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner. The right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities and to accept a bid that is deemed in the best interest of the project.
