The Contractor shall be required to meet the DBE goal as designated in the respective bid proposal.Pipe Backfill All box culvert, storm sewer, duct bank, waterline and sanitary sewer excavation under proposed pavement shall be sand filled and flushed (jetted and vibrated) per City Standard Specifications (section 801), unless flowable fill or other improved backfill material is otherwise specified. The sand fill shall start at the top of improved bedding and be brought up uniformly to an elevation 12 inches above the top of pipe, or 2 feet below the bottom of proposed pavement, whichever is higher. However, in no instance shall the sand fill be brought up to less than 6 inches below the pavement subbase material. Storm sewer adjacent to the back of curb and sanitary sewer in front and side lots shall also be sand filled per this provision, to within 2 feet of final grade. All costs for sand filling and flushing shall be included in the unit price bid for "Fill, Sand (Flushed & Vibrated)". This item shall be paid for at the unit price bid per linear foot of trench filled, regardless of trench depth and/or pipe size, unless indicated otherwise by the plans or contract.
