Demolition, site work, new construction, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the renovation of a medical facility; for the construction of a 16-story above grade, 200-bed medical facility; parking garage; and for the addition of a 900-space medical facility.

Design Build Finance for the expansion at Birchmount Hospital. Scope of work includes new construction to the south of the existing hospital comprising of a 3-storey podium emergency, all major diagnostic and treatment program elements as well as supporting program elements with a 16-storey tower accommodating critical care and inpatient beds in 36 bed/units and limited renovations within the existing hospital building to transform it into a focused, post-acute inpatient building component with renovations at the ground floor at the north end, to enable a new public entrance with associated surface parking and drop-off. An above-ground 900-car parking structure on the north side of the site. The new tower at Birchmount, a project labelled "Redevelopment Phase 1A," will have 200 beds, giving the campus 450 in total. TIMELINE: Fundraising efforts are underway/ongoing. Project will be managed through a Design-Build-Finance procurement method. Ontario Progressive Conservatives have pledged $1 billion for the expansion/construction of the hospital. The architect was secured through an RFP process; Functional Programming and concept planning are ongoing. Scope of work has yet to be finalized; including square footage. Request for Qualifications for General Contractors / Teams is currently scheduled: January to March 2027. Invited Request for Proposals for prequalified Teams / Consortia is tentatively scheduled: July to September 2027.
