As of October 11, 2022, a shortlist of prospective design firms has been released. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Marion County Utilities is requesting professional engineering firms to submit statements of qualifications to provide support to expand treatment for the capacity in the southwest area, which may include design of the expansion of Oak Run Waste Water Treatment Facility or design of a new Waste Water Reclamation Treatment Facility. All prospective respondents are hereby advised to NOT CONTACT County officials other than Marion County Procurement Staff with regard to this project. All questions regarding this project shall be faxed to 352-671-8451. Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned, and Small Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. Marion County believes that hiring done through this contract should, to the maximum extent, be offered to citizens within its boundaries that are unemployed or seeking work for the first time.
