Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a municipal facility in Kansas City, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.
Renovate existing building approximately 34,000 SF. The offices will be occupied by HAKC on the second floor during renovations to the 1st floor and basement. Selective demolition of existing building, to include removal and legal disposal of select, existing construction elements as required for installation of new work and not utilized within the new construction; including demolition of existing HVAC, plumbing & electrical fixtures and systems not intended to be utilized in the remodeled building. Interior build-out to include new interior construction and finishes, with associated fire-protection, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems. The Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri (HAKC) recently moved into its new Headquarters located at 3822 Summit St. KC MO 64111 and is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide renovation and abatement services. Helix is the Architect of Record and will conduct periodic site visits to administer the documents/design adherence. The offices will be occupied by HAKC associates on the 2 nd floor during construction, with renovations to be conducted on the 1st floor and basement level. Work is generally to be performed within normal business hours of 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Currently HAKC associates enter the west door on the first floor and conduct client intake and receive mail and deliveries through the north door. The selected contractor will work with HAKC to develop a schedule for temporary relocation of these functions to the other entrance or second floor as needed for renovation of those areas. The project renovation is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: The Scope of the project includes but is not limited to: a. Selective demolition and remediation of existing building, to include removal and legal disposal of contaminated materials as required for installation of new work; including demolition of existing HVAC, ductwork, plumbing & electrical fixtures and systems not intended to be utilized in the remodeled building. b. Interior build-out to include new interior construction and finishes, with associated fire protection, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing (MEP) system improvements. HAKC and the selected company will execute a contract with the scope of work included in this RFP. The initial term of the contract will be six (6) months, renewable in monthly increments up to two additional months as needed to complete the demolition, abatement, and renovation scope of work and closing inspections, testing, documentation, and reporting. A bid submission of $50,000.00 or higher must be accompanied by a negotiable bid guarantee of 5% of the amount of the bid. HAKC reserves the right to consider historic information and/or request additional information as part of the evaluation process. HAKC also reserves the right to reject any or all proposals; to make partial, multiple or no awards, postpone or cancel the bid process, and to waive minor technicalities in bids/proposals.
