The existing Security Control Systems are of original construction since 1987, 31 years old and have reached their useful life expectancy. The Security Control Systems requires replacement, upgrades and improvements to maintain its operation, reliability and most importantly officer safety. The Security Control Systems include door locking, intercom, closed circuit television, watchtower, bar coding, records management integration and other related security control needs. These Security Control Systems are used throughout the entire Jail. The replacement, upgrades and improvements shall address and include professional design services, construction, startup, and commissioning of systems. As of May 31, 2024, this project is included in the Rockland County 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
