Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Talladega, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.

Bids will be received for work associated with the furnishing of all supervision, technical personnel, labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, incidentals, and services, including utility and transportation services, and the performance and completion of all work required for the maintenance / rehabilitation of the existing corporate apron and adjacent taxiway connector (approx. 84,000 sf). Work will consist of the following: (1) cleaning of existing asphalt pavement; (2) removal of existing pavement markings; (3) crack sealing existing apron and taxiway; (4) sealcoating existing apron and taxiway; and (5) the remarking/restriping of the pavement surface. Other incidental items of work necessary for the successful completion of the project may also be required. Additional bid requirements are more specifically defined in Section B of the technical specifications for the project. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the plans and technical specifications prepared for this project. It is anticipated funds for the project will be available from ALDOT within 60 days or sooner of bid opening. Once funds are received, the compilation of the contract documents can take place. Once the contract between the Airport Board and contractor is executed and a preconstruction conference is held, work on the project can commence. Please refer to Section B for bidding and post-bid requirements necessary to award of the project. Award will be made to the lowest responsible qualified Bidder in accordance with Contract documents, if awarded. The project being offered at this time is not a federally funded project, but specific requirements are still required of the Contractor during the bidding and construction phases of the project. Each Bidder must furnish as part of his bid, a Bid Bond payable to the Owner in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the TOTAL AMOUNT BID. All requirements are clearly defined in the technical specifications. It shall be the responsibility of the prospective bidder to become familiar with all of the requirements of bidding and construction prior to submitting a proposal on the project listed above. The Bidder shall guarantee to hold his bid good and may not withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. No additional questions will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022. Contractors must be qualified under Alabama Law to perform the construction activities desired by the Owner and must be registered with the State of Alabama's Licensing Board for General Contractors to perform the work specifically addressed in this project. Contractors must have the "Heavy / Railroad" (H/RR) or "Heavy / Railroad - Specialty" (H/RR-S) classification. It should be noted that contractors must have this classification added to their license prior to bid opening or are at risk of having their bid rejected. The successful Bidder, whether a resident or nonresident of the State of Alabama, shall be required to comply with all other applicable City, County and State licensing and/or permit laws. All bids submitted by mail shall be registered and shall be received before or on the day of bid opening by the City Clerk, whose office is located at City Hall, Talladega, Alabama. All bids shall be submitted in "hard copy" or printed format, within a sealed envelope labeled with pertinent project information as called for in Section B of the technical specifications. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bids received, and to accept a Bid which is deemed most favorable to the Owner at the time the conditions are stipulated.
