DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Gerson Bakar Faculty Building (1236): F251 - MBA Lounge Provide: o new flooring throughout, both carpet and LVT flooring including ancillary rooms o bottom 2' of drywall to be replaced, patched around most of the space o flexible Ducting repair o drop ceiling replacement o Repair wall panels as needed o Wine rack/table bases/cabinet bases - repair/replace base as needed. o Note: The room was renovated 18 months ago. Finish schedule for that renovation project will be provided by Addenda. Corridor North of F251 Provide: o Case work to be replaced o Replace all drywall removed, approximately 2' above base, patch and paint (match existing) F266 & Adjacent Storage Room Provide: o Replace all drywall removed, approximately 2' above base, patch and paint (match existing) F330 - Undergrad Lounge, F330B - Conference Room. F330C - Conference Room Provide: o Replace flooring both carpet/LVT (like for like, same selection as F251) o Replace all drywall removed, approximately 2' above base, patch and paint (match existing) Walter A Haas Student Services Building (1234): S200 Provide: o Replace ceiling tiles as needed S204 Provide: o Replace flooring (carpet) match existing o Replace all drywall removed, approximately 2' above base, patch and paint (match existing) o Replace ceiling tiles S211 Provide: o Replace flooring (carpet) as needed, match existing S201, S201A, S203, S205, S207, S209 (offices) Provide: o Replace flooring (carpet) match existing o Replace all drywall walls removed, approximately 2' above base, patch and paint (match existing) o Rebuild ceiling system, ie: glued on tiles on drywall S206, S208 (group study) Provide: o Replace flooring (carpet) match existing o Replace ceiling tiles as needed S300C, S300D, S300E, S300F (offices) Provide: o Replace flooring (carpet) with Interlock SL910 carpet tiles (detail attached) o Replace all drywall removed, approximately 2' above base, patch and sand BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable projects with a construction value of $500,000, or greater, completed in the past five (5) years that demonstrate the bidder's ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project sizea, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. a. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 2. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address, (c) owner's name, (d) contract value at award, (e) total Change Order value, (f) completion date, (g) Owner's Representative email address and current phone number and (h) brief scope. 3. All projects on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) within the last 5 years. Original Bid Bond must be RECEIVED within 48 hours of Bid Deadline at: CAPITAL PROJECTS, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, 1936 University Avenue, Suite 222, Berkeley, CA 94704. NOTE: Prospective bidders arriving late after the published start time, will not be allowed to participate in the Site Tour. Only bidders who participate in the Pre-Bid Conference and Site Tour in its entirety, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: "B" - General Contractor Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Addendum #1 has been issued 4-26-2022. Additional specifications were issued 5-3-2022.
