Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Mifflintown Borough Council solicits bids for the complete Replacement of a culvert under fill carrying Cross Street over Schweyer Run in Mifflintown Borough, Juniata County. Bidders are required to submit with their bid, a bid guaranty of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, in the form of cash, certified, or bank cashier's check made payable to the Mifflintown Borough, or a bond with approved surety. Only bonds from companies licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will be accepted, and the bond shall so state the same. In addition, a public works employment verification form and an Anti-collusion Affidavit must be completed and submitted with the bid. The project scope of work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following items: 1. Erect & maintain traffic control signs, barricades, devices, and fences within project limits (Cross Street) 2. Construction of E&S Controls and BMP's 3. Demolition of existing rigid frame culvert, including the concrete sidewalk and supporting elements 4. Construction of temporary support & protection system to protect sewer line within limits of excavation 5. Demolish free standing stone masonry pier within limits of temporary access 6. Construction of precast concrete box culvert, rock scour protection, and all associated appurtenances 7. Construction of underground waterline within general limits of work 8. Construction of roadway typical section as shown on the Contract Drawings All work and project requirements shall be in conformance with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Specifications Publication 408/2020 Change 4, including the General Provisions, and the Project Sponsor's Contract Documents. In the event of any inconsistency, the Project Sponsor's Contract Documents shall control unless such interpretation would lead to an absurdity or make the Project Sponsor's Contract Documents ineffective to accomplish their purpose. Pre-qualification of bidders, as specified in Section 102.01 of Publication 408/2020 Change 4, is required on this project. Prevailing minimum wage rates in accordance with the PA Prevailing Wage Act shall apply to this project. Mifflintown Borough, in accordance with Title IV of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Parts 21 and 23 of 49 CFR, notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that MBE/WBE firms will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and that no person will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. This project does not have an established MBE/WBE goal. This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by the American Rescue Plan, State and Local Fiscal Recovery funds awarded to Mifflintown Borough by the U.S. Department of Treasury.
