The City of Rowan is accepting bids for the following projects: Community Center Roof Community Center south wall repair (plus various window trim). The City of Rowan is looking for ways to maintain and improve housing in the City. The City is considering rehabilitation of existing homes as an option. To provide some assistance to homeowners with home rehabilitation the City is contemplating applying for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding through the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to fund a housing sustainability program. Exterior house improvements (improve the outside envelope of the home). o Energy efficiency improvements (implements energy efficiency improvements in home). The city reserves the right to refuse any and all bids. Community Center Roof Bid- Dimensions: Approx. 26' x 100' per side (2) Purpose: Place tin roof over existing roof with the exception of the ridge cap Materials: Purlins spaced at 16" and boxed in at the ends, fastened with minimum of 10 dia/3" screw (prefer 4"), 2 screws per rafter. Purlins at bottom edge should be wrapped in metal. 28-gauge steel, 1 1/2 " screws spaced at 32" 20" wide universal ridge - vented 6" rake and trim on gable end Snow guards' full length - both sides (placed at 2nd purlin 16" from edge) Community Center South Wall Repair - Purpose: Repair storm damage to South wall of Community Center and trim around various windows on East and West sides of building. Demolition: Tear off and dispose of siding and exterior sheeting on only the South wall of the building. Materials: 7/16" OSB Tyvek Siding similar to that on other walls plus two (2) corners Aluminum sheeting and miscellaneous wraps, sleeves, or seals. Hardware appropriate to the installation of exterior sheeting, siding, etc. Construction should begin as soon as possible after the bid is awarded. The City will hire a subcontractor to disconnect and reconnect HVAC equipment. Must provide proof of insurance prior to starting work.
