Demolition and replacement of existing paddock fencing. Currently there is a mixture of treated boards and also sucker rod; this will have to be removed and replaced with either untreated boards with metal bite guards on top of the board to discourage chewing or galvanized railing. The current posts would be kept. The existing gates would also be replaced and a second gate installed into pens twelve (12) to twenty-two (22). Additionally at pen twenty-seven (27) the existing lumber fencing and gate will need to be replaced. The current gate openings are all different and the spacing between the posts are all different, both gates may have to be custom made. Wood: The gap between the boards on the fence line, starting at the bottom board should be about six (6) inches to avoid small lambs from escaping, for about two (2) to three (3) feet upwards. Then the space between the boards can increase. The outer perimeter is porosity fencing and does not need replacing. The WCVM (Western College of Veterinary Medicine) will provide a laydown site for material that has been removed. Bidders will be responsible for placing removed material in this laydown site. WCVM will dispose of the material. Due to pen availability the work may not be able to be done all at once but in sections. Bidders will need to provide a submission for either a wood or galvanized metal pipe fence. Bidders are welcome to provide separate submissions for both wood and metal pipe fences.
