The Peterborough Campus Residence/College Project is proposed to be constructed on an approximately 1.6 acres site located on the east bank of the Symons Campus, next to Otonabee College and near the Science Complex and the DNA building. The site features views of Otonabee River and is in close proximity to campus amenities such as student labs, classrooms, parking, food services, student services and college space. The legal address of the site is: 3700 Nassau Mills Rd, Part of Lot 7, Concession 10, Township of Douro, Peterborough, Ontario The Otonabee Student Residence Project will involve the development of a single-use student residence facility to replace the existing student residences that form part of the Otonabee College. It will involve the demolition of the existing student residence at the college and the construction of a new 500-bed (+/-) student residence facility. The University expects construction of the Otonabee Student Residence Project to commence in May 2027. Three (3) teams were short-listed as follows: Calibre Campus Partners (Fengate Capital Management); CCT Team - Campus Suites; and Knightstone Capital Management Inc. (Diamond Schmitt). The University is in negotiations with the preferred vendor; an award is expected by end of the calendar year. As of July 3, 2024, negotiations are ongoing for the final selection.
