Saving Project...

Renovation of a water / sewer project in Courtenay, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The CVRD requires the installation of an underground fibre optic cable between CVRD Water Treatment Plant, located at 4701 Lake Trail Road, Courtenay, and the Comox Valley Waste Management Centre (CVWMC) located at 3781 and 3699 Bevan Road Cumberland. The total distance is approximately 5,220 meters of which 800 meters are in existing ducts and will be occurring alongside unpaved roadways under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and the Village of Cumberland. Section A Water Treatment Plant and existing pull box at Bevan and Colake Road (see Diagram A). Installation of 1 x 48 strand single-mode fibre cable in an existing. The approximate length of the run is 602 meters. Subducting: the micro-cable requires protection when installed in a standard conduit with an HDPE 14mm/18 mm subduct The fibre in section A terminates via Bevan Road Colake Road pull box through an existing duct to a new 48 single-mode fibre dual door wall mount LC fibre patch panel and splice tray in the electrical room at the water treatment plant. Section B Existing pull box Bevan Road and Colake Road to CVWMC pull box near 3781 Pigeon Lake - entrance road to Leachate Facility (see Diagram B). Installation of 1 x 48 strand single-mode fibre optic line conduit system. The approximate length of the run is 3,298 meters on the shoulder of a service road. The fibre system will be buried in the roadway using a minimum trench depth indicated on the Issued For Construction drawings. The CVRD strongly recommends that proponents assess the condition of the shoulder of the unpaved municipal road before bidding. Section C CVWMC - Leachate Facility Pull box to new pull box at the Leachate plant (see Diagram C). Installation of 1 x 24 strand single-mode fibre optic line conduit system. The approximate length of the run is 345 meters on the shoulder of a service road. The fibre system will be buried in the shoulder of roadway using a minimum trench depth indicated on the Issued For Construction drawings. The 24 fibres in section C terminates at Leachate Plant in a 48 single-mode fibre dual door wall mount LC fibre patch panel in the server closet via a new duct into the building. Section D Pull box at Bevan Road and the CVWMC main access road to existing weigh scale building and the CVWMC data centre located on the mezzanine of the garage building (see Diagram D). The fibre system will be buried in the roadway using a minimum trench depth indicated on the Issued For Construction drawings. The fibre cable will transfer to an existing 100mm duct under the weigh scale building and then terminate in 2 LC patch panels in the CVWMC data centre on the mezzanine of the garage building. The micro-cable requires protection when installed in a standard conduit with an HDPE 14mm/18 mm subduct. A new pull box will be installed in the open space below the weigh scale building to connect the new 4way duct to the 100 mm existing duct. This was awarded to LiteAccess Technologies for $250,000 (just Phase 1 was awarded).
