Renovation and addition to an elderly care / assisted living facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Completed plans call for the addition of a 66,733-square-foot, three-story above grade, 108-bed elderly care / assisted living facility; and for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.
Addition of 108 beds to the existing 84 bed Long-Term Care Home. The scope of this project includes: add two additional wings and one floor to create a modernized 192-bed home, including 11 additional beds proposed for dementia care. The home is part of a campus of care, which includes retirement suites, independent living, and supports for home care and active living. The existing and proposed additions do not have basements. GFA for the additions - approx. 66,733 sq ft (or 6,179 sq m); there is a vertical expansion of 1 storey, as well as two, 3-storey additions. TIMELINE: Construction is underway. Awarded trades will not be released for publication. The expanded home is expected to welcome its first residents in fall 2025. *Construction cost has been estimated at 40 million.
