The City of Ontario is seeking proposals from qualified professional consulting engineering firms that possess the expertise and resources needed to provide on-call services for utilities planning for three (3) years, with an option to extend for two (2) additional consecutive 1-year terms. The City desires to work with experienced firms that would maintain positive working relationships with all City staff as well as other consultants, community stakeholders (residents, business and property owners); possess the ability to think through project issues and recommend possible solutions early in the process on regulatory, technical, administrative, and managerial levels; communicate effectively in a public sector setting; and are enthusiastic about working as a team with the City. The City's usage of the Consultant's services is on an as-needed basis such that if the demand is not there, then the services will not be requested. For each on-call service request, the Consultant and the City will agree upon the specific scope of the utilities planning work and cost for that project. The City has the right to retain other consulting firms at its sole discretion when the City believes there will be an economic or other significant advantage for doing so. Services for each contract will be provided on a negotiated fee basis, per work order. No minimum amount of work is guaranteed under these agreements. Compensation will be based on the hourly fee schedule agreed upon by the Consultant and the City prior to work commencing.
