The work will consist of demolition and disposal of the existing laboratory furniture, anti-slip flooring, fluorescent lighting fixtures, and ceiling tiles. Once the demolition is completed, imperfections with the room shall be corrected, and the contractor will supply and install new flooring, laboratory furniture, lighting fixtures and ceiling tiles. The contractor shall purchase and install two new mini-split air-condition units; sized adequately to keep the lab at the required temperatures. Please contact the location monitor and the Research leader to determine where the new air-conditioning units will be installed. SIZE OF PROJECT: In accordance with FAR 36.204, the estimated price range is Between $100,000 and $250,000. This Solicitation is a Request for Quote, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures, for a firm fixed priced construction purchase order. The USDA ARS requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to renovate Mill House at the USDA, ARS, Sugarcane Field Station in Canal Point, FL 33438. All work shall be performed in accordance with the terms, conditions, drawings, and specifications contained in the solicitation documents. A site visit has been scheduled for Thursday, May 12th at 10:00 AM EST, please contact Ms. Adura MacNaught at (561) 924-5227 for any issues. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The contractor shall provide all professional services necessary for the accomplishment of the contract project and such required services shall be in accordance with requirements as described herein. 3 | Page a. [X] Complete the project as per project requirements. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS: The contractor shall furnish a technical and cost proposal to provide services for "Renovate Mill House". The project is located at USDA ARS Sugarcane Field Station,12990 Hwy. 441N, Canal Point, FL. a. The contractor will work with site personnel to ensure project is accomplished in a timely manner. b. The contractor's work shall adhere to the criteria stated within these project requirements and specifications. All abatement efforts shall comply with applicable federal, state, and local code requirements as well as current industry standards, (i.e.: AHERA; ANSI; ARI; CFR; EPA; OSHA; FL State Dept. of Health Services'.) and health and safety codes, in effect at the time of contract award. c. Davis Bacon Wage Rates apply to all construction contracts more than $2,000. Employee payroll logs for the project will be required to verify wage rates are being adhered to. d. Projects more than $150,000 will require a bid bond. Additional, Payment and Performance bonds will be required for projects exceeding $35,000. Obtaining and the cost of these bonds is the responsibility of the contractor. Proof of Insurance is also required. Quote: a. The quote shall include all work described in 4.2 Description of Work. All quotes and detailed cost spreadsheets shall be submitted in unlocked MS Word and MS Excel formats with the formulas working to facilitate quote evaluation. 4.2 Description of Work: Scope of Work. The contractor shall provide all material, personnel, equipment, tools, fuel and other items or services necessary to remodel the workroom of Building 9. The work will consist of demolition and disposal of the existing laboratory furniture, anti-slip flooring, fluorescent lighting fixtures, and ceiling tiles. (1) Removal of the current laboratory casework, mechanical chases, countertops, and sinks. (2) Removal of the eye wash station. (3) Scrape, sandblast, or grind away the existing anti-slip floor coating. (4) Remove ceiling panels and T8 fluorescent light fixtures. (5) Level the concrete. (6) Extend the hot water supply to the new sink. (7) Remove and replace all damaged or cut RFP panels and trim. (8) Modify the existing water supply, wastewater drains, and electrical circuits to suit the new casework. (9) Move the computer wiring to new workstation. (10) Replace two existing doors and hardware. (11) Paint doors and doorframes. (12) Install new 4' LED drop in light fixtures. (13) Install new epoxy anti-slip flooring system and cove base. (14) Provide and install new laboratory cabinets, counter tops, sinks and wall-mounted cabinets. (15) Install new ceiling tiles. (16) Repair cracked windowpane on the west side of workroom. (17) Furnish and install new window blinds for all windows in the room, except the narrow pane windows in the doors. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
