Site work for a water / sewer project in Richlands, Virginia. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

**As of June 20, 2022, project is on hold. No definite date for the rebid.** Town of Richlands 200 Washington Square Richlands, VA 24641 The project consists of the following: Contract I: Work at three (3) tanks include Airport Tank Rehabilitation, Airport Tank mixing system, Farmer Street Tank Rehabilitation, Farmer Street Tank mixing system, Downtown Tank cleaning, and Downtown Tank mixing system. Contract II: Work at pump stations including the Brickyard Pump Station Rehabilitation and the East End Pump Station Rehabilitation. Contract III: Work at the water treatment plant (WTP) including the replacement of the filter media and underdrains, filter gallery valves and actuators, sedimentation basin sludge removal system and sedimentation basin crack repair epoxy injection, reduced pressure zone device RPZ relocation, the installation of a new shelter and electric hoist at the raw water intake, and the replacement of one existing finished water pump. Contract IV: 900 linear feet of 10-inch water line (C900 DDR 14 PVC), 5,200 linear feet of 8-inch water line (C900 DR14 PVC), 800 linear feet of 6-inch water line (C900 DR14 PVC) and related appurtenances, mag meter and pressure reducing solenoid valve with vault, school meter vault fireflow bypass, and encased river crossings water line replacements. The Contract Documents may be examined at the Town of Richlands, 200 Washington Square, Richlands, VA 24641; at Thompson & Litton, 103 E. Main Street, Wise, VA; and online at TRASCO. Copies of the Contract Documents (electronic and/or hard copy) are available for purchase through TRASCO. Withdrawal of bids shall be according to procedure (i) of the Virginia Public Procurement Act and to the Code of Virginia ( 2.2-4330). Bids must be accompanied by Bid security as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Each Bidder must be licensed as a Class A contractor in the State of Virginia; Bidders are instructed to review the Code of Virginia, Title 54.1, Chapter 11, prior to bidding. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must comply with the following: the President's Executive Order #11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; the President's Executive Orders #12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Davis-Bacon Act; and Section 436 of P. L. 113-76, American Iron and Steel. Bidders must certify that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. This project may become subject to compliance with Build America Buy America requirements. If so, the requirements will be provided prior to bid opening via Addendum issued after this advertisement. The Owner does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia, 2.2-4343.1. The Contract(s) shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder(s). The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids if it appears in its best interest to do so. The estimated cost ranges for the Contracts are: a. 1: $400,000 - $500,000 b. 2: $200,000 - $300,000 c. 3: $750,000 - $1,000,000 d. 4: $600,000 - $700,000 The Project consists of the following: 1. Contract I: Work at the three (3) tanks include Airport Tank Rehabilitation, Airport Tank mixing system, Farmer Street Tank Rehabilitation, Farmer Street Tank mixing system, Downtown Tank cleaning, and Downtown Tank mixing system. 2. Contract II: Work at the pump stations include the Brickyard Pump Station Rehabilitation and the East End Pump Station Rehabilitation. 3. Contract III: Work at the water treatment plant (WTP) generally includes the replacement of the filter media and underdrains, filter gallery valves and actuators, sedimentation basin sludge removal system and sedimentation basin crack repair - epoxy injection, reduced pressure zone device RPZ relocation, the installation of a new shelter and electric hoist at the raw water intake, the replacement of one of two existing finished water pumps, installation of a new motorized gate, relocation of two chemical fill lines and installation of a new meter in the water plant yard. 4. Contract IV: Water line work includes six (6) leak detection meters and vaults, 900 linear feet of 10-inch water line (C900 DDR 14 PVC), 800 linear feet of 6-inch water line (C900 DR14 PVC) and related appurtenances, mag meter and pressure reducing solenoid valve with vault, school meter vault fireflow bypass, and encased river crossing water line replacement.
