The removal of the existing roofing system and the installation of a new roofing system and other associated work in accordance with the project specifications provided by the District. Each bidder shall contact the District to receive the project specifications and shall perform the work in accordance with the specifications. Each bidder shall visit the site of the proposed work and become fully acquainted with the existing conditions relating to the required construction and labor and shall become fully informed as to the facilities involved, the difficulties, material quantities and restrictions in attending to the performance of the work. The successful bidder shall furnish performance and payment bonds, each in a penal sum not less than the amount of the Contract as awarded, as security for the faithful performance of the Contract and shall provide certificates of insurance on Accord Forms with thirty (30) days' notice of cancellation covering Automobile, Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Builder's Risk. Costs of all bonds, insurance and any and all permit fees shall be the responsibility of
the Contractor. Attention is called to the fact that all laborers, workers, and mechanics employed on this project shall be paid the general prevailing rate of hourly wages (including allotments for training and approved apprenticeship programs, health and welfare, insurance, vacation, and pension benefits) for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed as set forth in the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Contractor shall be responsible for the submittal of Certified Payrolls for this Project directly to the Illinois Department of Labor electronic database per the requirements of Illinois General Assembly Public Act 100-1177. contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
