Barton County Solid Waste invites proposals for engineering services to support it's Subtitle-D KDHE permitted landfill. The Barton County Landfill was permitted in 1973 at the current site, and operates per Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Permit #0103, which includes the Subtitle D and Construction/Demolition landfills. The facility also operates a household hazardous waste facility per KDHE permit #0606. The Barton County Landfill is operated solely as an enterprise fund by revenue generated through disposal fees. The facility is located at 350 NE 30 RD, or 2 miles north and 3 miles east of Great Bend, KS.
