Written questions concerning this RFP will be received until April 28, 2022 at 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time. They must be sent via e-mail to: Dist.Purchasing@dpsnc.net please insert "Questions for bid RFP# 179-2122-627-FIRE-SAF as the subject for the email. Durham Public Schools is requesting pricing for inspections that meet NFPA state and local standards on several items related to fire safety. Each item listed below can be bid on separately or can be bid as a package with all or multiple listed items. Pricing needs to show the pricing per item and/ or by combination. Durham Public schools prefers a vendor that can complete and verify several of the inspections. All inspections are to be completed during the summer break with exception of the hood inspections which require an additional inspection during the winter break. If floor plans are needed they can be observed at 2011 Hamlin Road and can be scheduled with David Glenn @ 919-201-3990 or david_glenn@dpsnc.net. Total pricing should show the breakdown of labor, materials and taxes. All inspection schedules can start on the last day of each school year through the 1st day of the following school year. A DPS representative will be able to provide the dates for year round and traditional schools on a yearly basis. Documentation - Once each inspection has been completed, written and signed documentation for each item the vendor has been awarded should be placed in the document box located at each site and a copy should be sent to maintenance. Inspection requirements for each site are as follows: 1. Fire Alarm Inspections at each of DPS sites - Yearly 2. Fire door and wall inspections - Yearly Fire door inspections should include conditions of each door, door frames and hardware with the locations and numbering that are located on each frame. Fire Wall inspections should be checked above and below drop ceilings for any penetrations that may need to be sealed. 3. Fire Damper Inspections - Every 4 years including the 1 st year the vendor is awarded the contract. 4. Water Based Suppression systems/ Sprinkler inspections (three quarterly and 1 yearly inspections; Every 3 months) Water Based/ sprinkler inspections should show difference between quarterly and yearly inspection prices. 5. Fire extinguisher inspections and servicing - Yearly Fire Extinguisher documentation should have a computerized documentation of locations of each fire extinguisher per site and shared with maintenance for future reference. 6. Fire role up door drop testing - Yearly a. There are 14 located across the district 7. Kitchen hood and fire suppression testing - Semi- Annually a. There are 108 hoods located across the district) Semi Kitchen hood testing should be scheduled during the summer break and the winter break. A DPS technician will accompany contractor for accessibility of each location. 8. Fire Hydrant inspections at each site a. For each fire hydrant that is located on DPS property.
