The Halifax Station, located at 1161 Hollis Street, is a four-storey heritage building which is the eastern terminal of the VIA Rail Canada (VIA) Ocean Route, VIA's eastern transcontinental train which operates between Montreal and Halifax. The 1928 Station is connected to the Westin Nova Scotia Hotel and has been protected by the Heritage Railway Act since 1991. The project includes important building envelope refurbishment work (windows, repointing, sandstone work, etc.) as well as some reroofing, structural, mechanical and electrical work. While on the Railway property, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination, wear a mask and gloves, safety hat, safety glasses, reflective apparel (safety vest) and safety boots in accordance with the Railway's regulations as stated in "Safety Guidelines for Contractors." The potential Tenderers must be present for the Safety Briefing prior to entering the VIA Right-of-Way. Vendors are required to complete the Intent to Bid on Merx. When submitting your bid, the ITT must be returned in its entirety, initialed on pages where indicated. The pricing sheet must be returned in the Excel and PDF formats. The HSE and Quality questionnaire must be completed and returned with the ITT documents.
