The New York State Department of Transportation, is assisting HNTB New York Engineering and Architecture P.C. (HNTB), in the selection and retention of Subcontractors, to provide rope access for Consultant Inspection Teams at the Queensboro Bridge in NYSDOT's Region 11, under Contract No. D038202 PIN XB22.04.121. The selected Rope Access subcontractor will be required to provide all labor, materials, machinery, tools, and equipment for the rope access for the Queensboro Bridge Biennial Inspection located over the East River, connecting Manhattan and Queens in New York City in the State of New York. The required rope access will assist HNTB and New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) personnel, or their authorized designee, with the inspection of said bridge. Required Experience: As the safety of human lives is at risk, the Subcontractor shall have had a minimum of five (5) years documented experience in the performance of rope access on similar structures. The project duration is from the beginning of the Contract (anticipated in June 2022) until December 31, 2025 (4 years). However, the bids will only be valid for the first 2 years. The rope access will be re-bid in early 2024. The number of workdays required per crew to provide rope access per week will vary from zero to five (0 to 5) days. As many as two (2) separate work crews with all necessary equipment and materials may be required to work simultaneously at any time during the Contract. Should the selected low bidder be unavailable for the assignment within the work area, HNTB and NYSDOT reserves the right to request and assign the required work to the next lowest bidder. A representative of NYSDOT may be present. Attendance of the WebEx by a representative from each of the prospective bidders is encouraged but not mandatory. The Award of the Contract will be made within 30 calendar days after receipt of Bids, subject to final approval of NYSDOT. A tabulation of the Bids will be provided to all Bidders by mail. Under the requirements of the State Procurement Act all communications regarding advertised projects are to be channeled through the Contract Management Bureau's designated Contact: Mr. Seth Medwick. Until a contract is approved by the State Comptroller, contact with any other NYSODT employee, or the firm as listed above, concerning this project should not be made unless otherwise directed by the Contract Management Bureau. Communications made contrary to this policy and deemed an attempt to influence the outcome, may result in disqualification. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Contract term: Four (4) years The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
