Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Anderson, South Carolina. Working plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.

As of 6/20/2022, project not awarded. Project Inactive due to budget. Project No-21-3577 Complete replacement of 2 walk-in coolers and a combination cooler/freezer. Provide temporary cooler and freezer units. Rework damaged walls around refrigeration units. Project Location: Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Highway, Anderson, SC 29621 Construction Cost Range: $100,000 to $200,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The overall scope of this project is to replace the existing walk-in cooler and freezer units. There are 2 separate cooler units and a combination cooler / freezer unit. The existing 4 units to be replaced with new models as indicated on the plans and in the specifications. Associated utilities included electrical, fire protection sprinkler heads, indoor and outdoor refrigeration units, and ceiling repairs at the tie are included. Two (2) temporary outdoor refrigeration units with temporary walk, steps and supporting temporary electrical to be included. The contractor shall review drawings and specifications carefully to determine the complete scope of the project and not depend solely on the description herein. Dust partition(s) to isolate area of work from the facility kitchen. A temporary sink to be provided and connected as indicated on the plans. A more detailed, but not exhaustive or all inclusive list of scope requirements are shown below. The following list is meant to serve as a general description of the scope of the project. B. Replace the existing refrigeration units with new models as shown on the drawings and specifications including support systems to provide a complete and operating system. Basis of design is Bally with equals by American Panel or Kolpak. C. Insulate all piping, and equipment as herein specified and as indicated on mechanical drawings. D. Dispose of the old equipment and recycle components as necessary. E. Remove / replace existing condensate and refrigerant piping. Condensate piping in the combination units to be heat traced. F. Provide temporary dust partition for duration of the project. The partition to be sealed at the top (deck above) and bottom and around existing utilities to provide and air-tight seal between the construction area and the kitchen. G. Relocate the existing 2-compartment prep sink to the temporary location as indicated on the plans on the kitchen side of the dust partition. Provide temporary piping to the existing waste and domestic water locations. Provide temporary framing and plywood in construction area to protect temporary location. Remove disposal for the temporary location only and reinstall when the sink is moved and piped at the original location. Seal dust partition around utilities and/or protection piping cover. H. Provide a temporary 8'x20' temporary cooler and 8'x20' temporary freezer between demolition and completion complete with power, walks and steps. I. Disconnect electrical connections from the existing unit and reconnect provide new on the new units. Refer to electrical plans and specifications. J. Start, test, adjust, balance and place into operation all systems. The building water systems are to be balanced to provide the quantity of water as shown on drawings. K. Install new sprinkler heads in the 4 units. L. Reference site layout for overall project area including construction parking, temporary unit locations, construction entrance, etc. M. Rework existing perimeter walls to correct damage from leaking cooler and freezer units. N. Level existing concrete floor under units to receive new insulated floor panels on refrigeration units. O. The contractor will not release, nor cause to be released, accidentally or otherwise, any chlorofluorocarbons (refrigerant) into the air. All refrigerant must be reclaimed and recycled according to the latest state and federal governmental requirements and guidelines as published by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
