Renovation of a fire / police facility in Mill Valley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
PROJECT A: Building Permit Number 157846. Barrier Removals at the existing building. The interior remodel will include required accessibility upgrades to the restrooms & showers, and accessible path of travel. Exterior alterations to include required accessible compliant parking, accessible path of travel, and replacement of second floor windows with new insulated glass windows to match existing PROJECT B: Building Permit Number 87745. Seismic retrofit of the apparatus bay, offices, and living quarters. Work also includes architectural repair resulting from the seismic retrofit. The entire Fire Station 4 facility and site outside the area of work is to remain fully operational at all times. The following represents a description of phases and an abbreviated description of the work (not necessarily in sequence given) within each phase. Contractor shall provide detailed phasing and schedule at the pre-construction conference. Refer to Sheet T0.2 Work Sequence Plan. Construction to occur in 3 Phases: PHASE 1: Apparatus Bay seismic, demo rough-ins and finishes for new SCBA unit and extractor, demo and new finishes for PPE room, visitor parking improvements. PHASE 2: lower floor seismic including interior and exterior work, kitchen remodel, lower floor restroom replacement. PHASE 3: upper floor seismic including interior and exterior work, upper floor restroom remodel, water heater closet. A California class B contractor's license is required to bid this contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. Work shall be completed within 120 Calendar Days from the date when Contract Time commences to run. The Project Manager's Opinion of Probable Costs is from Nine Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars to One Million and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($950,000 to $1,050,000). Sealed bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond from a reliable surety company in an amount not less than ten (10%) percent of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the District, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute Performance Bond within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to him. The right is reserved as the interest of the District may require rejecting any and all proposals and to waive any informality in proposals received.
