Site work and paving for a road / highway in Santa Fe, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Purpose: Galveston County is seeking a contractor to overlay 2" of new Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement surface course on approximately 47,850 square yards of Cemetery Road from FM 517 to SH 6, Galveston County, Texas. Prior to the overlay, the county road will mill the existing pavement, repair all base failure, and apply a single course seal coat. The net price shall be delivered to Galveston County, including all freight, shipping, and license fees. Galveston County is tax exempt, and no taxes should be included in proposal pricing. Bonding Requirements: oBID GUARANTEE: Evidencing its firm commitment to engage in the contract if Bidder is selected for award of contract, each Bidder is required to furnish with their proposal a Cashier's Check, or an acceptable Bidder's Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total contract price. The Bidder's Bond must be executed with a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas. Failure to furnish the bid/proposal guarantee in the proper form and amount, by the time set for opening of bids may be cause or rejection of the proposal. oPERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: Successful bidder, before beginning work, shall execute a performance bond and a payment bond, each of which must be in the amount of the contract. The required payment and performance bonds must each be executed by a corporate surety in accordance with Section 1, Chapter 87, Acts of the 56th Legislature, Regular Session, 1959 (Article 7.19-1, Vernon's Texas Insurance Code). oDAVIS-BACON WAGE RATES: Davis-Bacon Wage Rates are requirements for this solicitation. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rates are required to be paid to laborers and mechanics. When required by Federal program legislation, all prime construction contracts in excess of $2,000 must include a provision for compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act as supplemented by the Department of Labor regulations (29 C.F.R. Part 5, "Labor Standards Provisions Applicable to Contracts Covering Federally Financed and Assisted Construction"). In accordance with the statute, contractor must be required to pay wages to laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the prevailing wages specified in a wage determination made by the Secretary of Labor. The decision to award a contract or subcontract must be conditioned upon the acceptance of the wage determination. In addition, contractors must be required to pay wages not less than once a week. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin. Please reference the General Provisions, item 69, Procurement Laws, sub-item 3, Davis-Bacon Act as amended (40 U.S.C. 3141-3148). oDEBARMENT AND SUSPENSION: To participate in this solicitation, respondent certifies that neither it, nor any of its Principals, are presently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment, disqualified, excluded, or in any way declared ineligible for the award of contracts by any Federal agency. All contractors/ subcontractors that are debarred, suspended, or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. The Galveston County Commissioners' Court reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid or bids which, in its opinion, is most advantageous to Galveston County with total respect the governing laws.
