Annual maintenance agreement, with four potential additional years, for the pavement maintenance throughout the City of Brea. This contract will require the removal and replacement and maintenance of asphalt pavement. Work to include pothole repairs, utility cuts, miscellaneous asphalt repairs, speed humps, parking lot slurry, traffic control, saw cutting of pavement, removal of existing and temporary asphalt concrete, minor grading and preparation of the subgrade, the addition of aggregate base if needed to reconstruct the asphalt concrete improvement, miscellaneous pavement maintenance, and clean-up of worksites. The work will be on an as-needed basis. This agreement is valued at approximately $200,000.00 annually During the second twelve (12) month period of the Agreement, the Base Sum per month is subject to a cost-of-living adjustment (Stepped Up Base). The cost-of-living adjustment shall be set at the beginning of the second period adjustment date) in the following manner: The Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers (base year 1982-84 = 100) for the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim area published by the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Statistics (Index) which is published for the month immediately preceding the adjustment date (Adjustment Index) shall be compared to the Index which was published for the date immediately preceding the beginning of the first twelve (12) month period (Beginning Index). If the Adjustment Index has increased over the Beginning Index, the monthly payment shall be increased by the amount obtained by multiplying the base sum by a fraction, the numerator of which is the Adjustment Index and the denominator of which is the Beginning Index.
