Lansdowne 2.0 has the following main elements: 1. The construction of a new, state-of-the-art, 5,500+ capacity Event Centre; 2. The construction of New North Side stands with 11,200+ capacity; 3. City public realm enhancements; 4. Demolition of the existing north side stands and Civic Centre; 5. Construction of below grade parking beneath the New North Side stands; and 6. Considerations for new retail space and two residential buildings delivered under a separate project. 4.1 Event Centre The proposed new Event Centre will have a capacity of at least 5,500. It will feature accessible and adaptable seating which meets current Ontario Building Code requirements, gender-neutral washrooms, universal accessible washrooms, adult changing tables and lifts, and modern facilities for both the OHL and PWHL teams. The new Event Centre will house a bowl seating area with a main concourse offering direct views to the floor. It will also be equipped with multiple food and beverage options, a suite level, and substantial back-of-house areas. It is proposed that the Event Centre shall also have exterior patio spaces, accessible from inside of the building, which overlook the football field. Furthermore, it is proposed that there will be an open, social area within the Event Centre concourse offering views of the Rideau Canal and Great Lawn. The Event Centre will also feature public washrooms which are accessible from the exterior, enhancing the flexibility and useability of the space and fostering a vibrant public realm. 4.2 New North Stands The New North Side Stands (NNS) at Lansdowne Park's TD Place will replace the current, functionally obsolete stadium's north-side stands. The NNS will provide a capacity of greater than 11,200 while introducing new club seating, enhanced accessibility viewing areas, and standing-room space for eventgoers. Access to the NNS will be improved through Gates 2, 3, and 4, which will lead into a reimagined main concourse. This concourse will feature various food and beverage options, retail kiosks, bars, facility operation areas, and men, women and gender-neutral restrooms. The new upper concourse will offer similar amenities for patrons and staff. A new bridge will link the NNS to the neighbouring new Event Centre and the South Side-Stands to provide convenient access between the two facilities and additional sightlines to the field. Construction of the new event centre will run from until 2027, while the new north side stands will be completed by mid-2029.
