Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

** This project has been awarded to Ke Nui Construction LLC in the amount of $5,163,761.00. ** The Department of Land and Natural Resources Interim General Condition, dated October 1994, as amended, and the General Conditions -AG008, latest revision shall be made part of the specifications. The project is located at Malaekahana State Recreation Area Kahuku Section, 56-335 Kamehameha Highway, Laie, Island of Oahu, Hawaii. The work shall generally consist of the construction of comfort stations, pot wash stations, gravel access road, walkways, grading, utilities, parking lots, and landscaping. Due to the nature of work contemplated, bidders must possess a valid State Contractor's license, classification A Bidders must satisfy the requirements of Specification Section 01200 - QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS. The State shall be the sole judge as to whether a bidder satisfies the said requirements by review of their "BIDDER'S STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATION" form. The said form, which is included in Section 01200 - QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS and is made a part of these Contract Documents, must be properly completed and submitted within five (5) calendar days1 after bid opening. Failure to comply with this requirement for all Bidders, whether they are low bidder or not, will be sufficient cause for bid rejection. The award of the contract, if it be awarded, will be subject to the availability of funds. This project is subject to preference to Hawaii Products established by Section 103D, Hawaii Revised Statutes. The Hawaii Product List may be examined at the State Procurement Office website. Since the estimated cost of construction is $250,000 or more, the apprenticeship agreement preference pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes 103-55.6 (ACT 17, SLH 2009) shall apply.
