Multiple major flooding events (including Hurricane Sandy) damaged the facility to a point that re-opening was not feasible. However, the infrastructure of this major public recreational facility remains. This infrastructure includes the bathhouse, a public beach, access road (intersecting Seven Lakes Drive) with toll booth, two parking areas (with a capacity for parking 700 cars), building and site utilities, picnic areas, and comfort stations. The lake itself is fed via a spillway to the north of the site. This spillway is channeled through a culvert that was the main source of flooding during major events. The Lake is impounded by an earthen dam that requires some repair. Currently, the bathhouse is being used as a maintenance center for Harriman State Park. An old fire road extends beyond the site to the west, reaching Lake Skenonto. The remains of an old, derelict group camp can be found along this road. Other group camps continue to operate further south on Lake Sebago. The closest, SB5 (also known as Baker Camp), is currently be reconstructed for weekend and weekly cabin rentals. The New York Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is seeking to retain a professional Landscape Architecture firm to lead a multi-disciplinary team of allied professionals to provide design services for the Rehabilitation of Lake Sebago, Harriman State Park. Contract term: 48 months The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
