Site work for a water / sewer project in Sandy, Utah. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

**As of 6/1/2022 Project was awarded to COP Construction LLC award amount$ 8,700.599.10 Sandy City will be improving the waterlines in four locations throughout the City, these water lines are being replaced or added due to age or to create a looped system. It is the intent of the City to award all projects to a single contractor who will be encouraged to use multiple crews as needed to meet the completion deadlines defined in these documents. The City has a defined budget for these projects, if all projects cannot be completed to stay within the budget and postpone the other projects to a future date. The 2022 Waterline Project includes the following four project locations: Sandy Woods Lane, 300 West, Sunburn Lane, and 10600 South. Schedule 1 - Sandy Woods Base Bid The Sandy Woods Lane Project includes creating a looped system for the Sandy Woods area. A new 8" PVC transmission line is to be added by connecting to an old Sandy/Midvale City interconnect on the south end of 700 East near Orchard Vista Ct. The transmission line will be constructed within Midvale City limits from the connection point, along 7570 South, 520 East and 7500 South to Sandy Woods Lane. Construction requirements within Midvale will need to meet Midvale City and APWA standards as indicated within the construction drawings. In addition to constructing a transmission line, the Sandy Woods Lane project includes replacing the existing waterline with a new 8" PVC waterline as shows in the construction drawings. The existing waterline is to remain in service in segments until the new water line has been tested and disinfected and ready for service to minimize the impact to the residents. The project include adding, replacing, and/or reconnecting existing fire hydrants, meters, connections to side main waterlines, service laterals, and valves as indicated on the project's construction drawings. Alternative 1 - As an additive alternative, pricing is requested to replace 3/4" services. The base bid for 3/4" services is to include installing a new lateral and reconnecting the existing meters. The additive alternate bid would be to replace the meter box and setter while reusing the existing meter. Schedule 2 - 300 West Base Bid The 300 West waterline project spans from 9400 South to 9120 South and consists of replacing the existing waterline with a new 12" PVC waterline. The existing waterline is to remain in service until the new water line has been tested and disinfected and ready for service to minimize the impact to the businesses along 300 West. The project includes adding, replacing, and/or reconnecting existing fire hydrants, meters, connection to side main waterlines, service laterals, valves, and fire lines as indicated on the project's construction drawings. Additive Alternate 2-1 (Service Replacement) As an additive alternate, pricing is requested to replace 3/4" and 1" services. The base bid for 3/4" and 1" services is to include installing a new lateral and reconnecting the existing meters. The additive alternative bid would be to replace the meter box and setter while reusing the existing meter. Schedule 3 - Sunburn Lane Base Bid The Sunburn Lane waterline project consists of replacing the existing waterline with a new 8" Ductile Iron Pipe waterline along Sunburn Lane and Cherry Creek Drive. The existing waterline is to remain in service in segments as needed until the new water line has been tested and disinfected and ready for service to minimize the impact to the residents. The project includes adding, replacing, and/or reconnecting existing fire hydrants, meters, and connections to side main waterlines, service laterals, and valves as indicated on the project's construction drawings. Additive Alternate 3-1 (Service Replacement) As an additive alternative, pricing is requested to replace 3/4" services. The base bid for 3/4" services is to include installing a new lateral to and reconnecting the existing meters. The additive alternative bid would be to replace the meter box and setter while reusing the existing meter. Schedule 4 - 10600 South Base Bid The 10600 South waterline project spans from Holiday Park Drive to State Street and consists of replacing the existing waterline with a new 10" and 12" PVC waterline. The existing waterline is to remain in service until the new water line has been tested and disinfected and ready for service to minimize the impact to the businesses along 10600 South. The project includes adding, replacing, and/or reconnecting existing fire hydrants, meters, connections to side main waterlines, service laterals, valves, sample tap, and fire lines as indicated on the project's construction drawings. Work within the State Street intersection was required to be completed no later than June 1, 2022. In order to ensure that the work was completed on time, this portion of the project was removed from the scope of this project and will be installed by others ahead of awarding this contract. The awarded contractor for this project will connect to a the end of a temporary dogleg connection outside of the UDOT right-of-way as shown in the drawing details tocontinue the line down 10600 South. Additive Alternate 4-1 (Service Replacement) As an additive alternative, pricing is requested to replace 3/4" and 1" services. The base bid for 3/4" and 1" services is to include installing a new lateral and reconnecting the existing meters. The additive alternative bid would be to replace the meter box and setter while reusing the existing meter. Additive Alternate 4-2 (Mill and Overlay) The following scope of work defines the additive alternative to mill and overlay 10600 South. Scope: 10600 South Mill and Overlay (I-15 to State Street). Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond payable to Sandy City (OWNER) for five percent of the total amount of the bid. After bid opening, OWNER will return all of the bonds except that of the lowest responsible bidder. When the contract is executed, and OWNER receives the performance, payment and all other required bonds, the bid bond of the successful bidder will be returned. A certified check made payable to OWNER may be used in place of the bid bond. A performance and payment bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by owner, will be required to ensure faithful performance of the contract. The duration of the performance and payment bond shall be one year after the anticipated completion date of the project. Attorneys-in-fact who sign bid, payment and performance bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney signed with original signatures or facsimile. The party to who the contract is awarded will be required to provide the performance, payment and all other required bonds (including certificates of insurance), within ten calendar days from the date when Notice of Award is delivered to the bidder. The party to who the contract is awarded will be required to execute the agreement within ten calendar days from the date when the contracts are delivered to the bidder. If bidder fails to execute the contract, the owner may consider the bidder in default, in which case the bid bond accompanying the bid shall become property of the owner.
