Renovation of a mixed-use development in Golden, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and 4,700-square-foot educational facility.

The project will consist of a lab space fit-out of a 4,700 SF shell space in the existing CoorsTek building on School of Mines campus, currently comprised of labs 250 and 260. The new lab space shall include interdisciplinary research lab spaces, and a controls and visualization space that includes a collaboration area and Virtual Reality equipment. Also included in the work is mechanical modifications and ceiling replacement in a nearby lab to free up capacity. General Contractors must demonstrate recent experience in the construction of projects of similar size and type in a university campus environment. Scope of Services - Existing shell space is approximately 4,700 sf. Demolition includes interior walls, doors, ceiling and chain link fences. - New construction includes new interior walls, doors, glazing, and finishes to create interdisciplinary lab spaces, and a controls and visualization space. - New lab equipment includes sinks, fume hoods, case work, and overhead service carriers. - Schedule and manage construction activities in accordance with Mines requirements. - Manage and schedule the Work in an occupied laboratory building. - Coordinate access to the Work with adjacent lab spaces. - Prepare Record Drawings, O&M manuals, and project closeout documentation. *Questions Due: 6.2.2022 by 2:00 PM *As of June 10, 2022, two addenda have been issued.
