Bids must be made on the standard proposal form in the manner designated therein and as required by the specifications that must be enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes bearing the name of the job and name and address of the bidder on the outside, addressed to: "MINEOLA UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT", clearly marked on the outside: Bid For: Mineola Union Free School District - Gym Addition and Interior Renovations Rebid at the Mineola Middle School. The Mineola School District is not responsible for bids opened prior to the bid opening if bid number and opening date do not appear on the envelope. Bids opened prior to date and time indicated are invalid. The bidder assumes the risk of any delay in the mail, or in the handling of the mail by employees of the Mineola School District, as well as of improper hand deliver Certified check or Bid Bond in the amount totaling 5% of the base bid. The School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to accept the proposal it deems in the best interest of the School District. A Performance and Payment bond will be required for the work. Each shall be in the amount of 100% of the contract sum. Refer to Article 11 of the General Conditions for requirements associated with such bonds The Mineola Union Free School District shall give notice of acceptance of a bid by either registered or certified mail, sent within forty five (45) days after the bids have been opened. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of such bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Contract and to complete the work contemplated therein.
