Demolition, site work and addition to a bridge / tunnel in Laredo, Texas. Design plans call for the addition of a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Construction of an additional 8-lane bridge span adjacent to, but not parallel to, the existing span at the World Trade Bridge and construct an additional 2-lane span up-river that will be adjacent and parallel to, but not connected to, the existing span. This will result in 10 new additional lanes to operate at the World Trade Bridge. This project is included in the city's fy 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program. As of January 9, 2024, the construction document completion timeline has not been released. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been disclosed. Construction is slated to begin January 2026-November 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
