Construction of new fencing around the outdoor athletic facilities at the site of a new elementary school building currently under construction in Orange City, IA. This is a rebid of the fencing portion of the 4th bid issuance for the elementary project that consists of fencing around a new track & field, baseball, softball and recreational fields. All other aspects of the project have previously been bid and awarded. Mailed bids will be accepted using the same address as the bid opening so long as they are delivered prior to the receipt of bids. Mailed bids must clearly indicate on the outside of the envelop that they are a sealed bid for this project. A public Bid Opening will be held immediately following the receipt of bids. The bids will be presented to and considered by the School Board at their next meeting. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 30 calendar days after the date of the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. Bids shall be based on a stipulated sum contract for multiple contracts. You are hereby advised that on May 9, 2022, the MOC-Floyd Valley Board of Directors will conduct a public hearing commencing at 5:00 PM in the District Board Room at 709 8th Street South East, in Orange City, IA. The public hearing will be for the issuance of bid documents for Bid Issuance #4.1 (Athletic Field Fencing) and intent to enter into contracts with the lowest responsible bidder. At the conclusion of the public hearing the board will act on the resolution to approve the plans for bidding. You are invited to attend and comment. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid security in a separate sealed envelope as allowed by Section 26.14A of the Iowa Code. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The surety providing bonds must have an (A-) A.M. Best rating or better or be listed on the U.S. Department of Treasury listing of approved sureties (Department Circular 570). The cost of the Bonds shall be included in the Contract Sum. Notice of Award will be issued within 30 days of the receipt of the bids. The MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District School Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter such contracts as it deems in the best interest of the School District.
