Questions: Fax To: 973-621-5109 Att: Christopher Calvanese All questions must be submitted to the Purchasing Agent in writing at 465 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Room 335, Newark, NJ 07102, or via fax to 973-621-5109, no later than eight (8) business days prior to deadline It is the intent of Essex County to procure construction services to furnish all labor, equipment and materials to complete a One(1) Year Open-Ended / On-Call Contract in every detail the work indicated on the Bid Documents and for all work incidentals thereto for the completion of the Miscellaneous Drainage Improvements at Various Essex County Locations Contract. Bid Guarantees are required pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-21. Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price not to exceed $20,000, payable unconditionally to the COUNTY OF ESSEX. A sample bond form is found herein. Bidder shall submit with the bid a Consent of Surety (form included herein on page 53), with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the County stating that it will provide said bidder with a Performance Bond in the full amount of the bid. This certificate shall be obtained in order to confirm that the bidder to whom the contract is awarded will furnish Performance and Payment Bonds from an acceptable surety company on behalf of said bidder, any or all subcontractors or by each respective subcontractor or by any combination thereof which results in performance security equal to the total amount of the contract, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-22. Failure to submit consent of surety form shall result in rejection of the bid. Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject all bid proposals pursuant to Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq. and to waive immaterial informalities
