BC Parks is proposing a new potable ground water system to replace the existing surface water system that currently services two seasonal staff residences. The proposed work consists of completing work on an existing groundwater well, and the mechanical and electrical works within an existing shed, as well as construction of a 50 mm diameter water distribution system to park residences. BC Hydro power service is not available in the area and the system will be powered by a solar and backup generator system. Minor improvements to the existing shed which will become the system pump house are required and include insulation, framing, sheathing, and other minor items. The existing structure sits overtop of a below ground water cistern which is no longer in use and shall be cleaned and decommissioned. In general, the scope of work includes: Supply and install 315 m of 50 mm and 19 mm PVC water pipe Complete a groundwater well and install a weld-on pitless adaptor Supply and install a 1.05 kW submersible pump Complete pumphouse structure improvements Supply and install water pressure tank and mechanical pipe and fittings Supply and install a 3.5 kW solar system and 3.5 kW backup generator Complete the necessary testing, adjustments and system disinfection Provide written startup procedures and staff training
