Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Hiawatha, Iowa. Completed plans call civil work for a road / highway and sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of Hiawatha Fitzroy Rd Extension - 202204 involves a concrete roadway extension of Fitzroy from Forrest Meadow Lane east to the new Turtle Creek Park entrance. In addition, a new concrete driveway will be installed from the new roadway up to the Hiawatha Well House building. An existing rock base was installed in the fall of 2020 and will require trimming and filling in low areas to meet the proposed subbase grades. Topsoil will be placed behind the new roadway and seeded. Excess rock will be used as shoulder for the concrete driveway. There will be minimal storm sewer placement on this project.
