As of February 22, 2023, the project was awarded in August 2022, and is under construction. An exact timeline for construction has not been confirmed. Question Cut Off May 26, 2022 @5:00pm The project scope includes construction of a new public plaza with amenities, located between Arlington City Hall Building and Arlington's Downtown Public Library (George W. Hawkes Library Building). The project includes, 40' tall architectural clock tower (with artwork), architectural water feature, seating areas, specialty paving, landscape improvements, site improvements and construction of all supporting appurtenances. This project is seeking to memorialize a historical landmark, the Mineral Well, that was torn down in 1951. Memorializing this well provides a platform to tell the story of one of city's most foundational places, now lost in time and makes a connection with this historic landmark. The project goal is to provide a gathering place for the community, through construction of public plaza and create a strong focal point for the view looking eastward down W. Main St. The City of Arlington exclusively uses IonWave for the notification and dissemination of all solicitations. The receipt of solicitations through any other means may result in your receipt of incomplete specifications and/or addendums which could ultimately render your bid/proposal non-compliant. The City of Arlington accepts no responsibility for the receipt and/or notification of solicitations through any other means. The City of Arlington strongly encourages bidders to submit their response to this bid electronically. If submitting a paper bid, it must be submitted in a sealed envelope or package and labeled with the company name, solicitation number and title. Late bids will not be accepted. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the greatest amount bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bid Security will be mailed directly to the address listed above. A Performance Bond, a Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in an amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, conditioned upon faithful performance of the contract and payment of all persons supplying labor or furnishing materials, shall be executed by the successful bidder and accompany the signed contract. Proposal may be submitted for approval of alternative products as substitutions for materials which may appear to be specified as proprietary. Submittals will be received in the office of the Consultant in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders until 5:00 p.m., five calendar days prior to the date set for bid opening. Bid Proposal must be submitted on a form identical to that bound within this Project Manual or as modified by authorized addendum and by the requested method outlined in the request for proposal, this document and the Ionwave bid management system. The right to accept any bid, or to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities, is hereby reserved by the Owner. Minority/Women Business Enterprises (MWBE) utilization plans, and relevant documents must be received by the dates listed on the scope of work and the MWBE attachments to the proposal request. Failure to return these documents by the dates specified will make your proposal nonresponsive. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
