The City of Ontario's Municipal Utilities Company (OMUC) is implementing water system capital improvements identified in OMUC's Water Master Plan. The construction will be within the City of Upland along 8th Street, between San Antonio Avenue and South Fern Avenue. The work under this contract consists of installation of approximately 85 linear feet of 60-inch diameter steel casing, approximately 60 linear feet of 48-inch diameter steel casing, approximately 200 linear feet of 30-inch diameter CML&C WSP and approximately 1,290 linear feet of 36-inch diameter CML&C WSP potable water transmission main; ground improvements by permeation grouting, including subsurface investigations, installation of water appurtenances connections to existing pipelines; pipeline abandonments and removals, temporary water supply line (highline); implementation of traffic control during construction, pavement repair, grinding and overlays, and striping restoration as described in the Plans and Specifications for Project. For the purposes of differentiating the City of Ontario (Owner) and the City of Upland (project jurisdiction), these Technical Specifications and the Contract Drawings refer to the Owner, the City of Ontario's Municipal Utilities Company as the OMUC Phase 1 used throughout these Contract Documents, including the Plans refers to an existing 30-inch diameter transmission water main along San Antonio Avenue, which was constructed in 2021. Phase 2 is this Project, which connects to Phase 1 and continues east terminating at Fern Avenue and 8th Street intersection. Note, this Project does not consist of two Phases. References to Appendices throughout these Contract Documents, including the Plans shall mean Appendix A through M, accordingly.
