Site work and paving for a civil project in Sioux City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The project is located on 29th Street from Jones Street to Cheyenne Boulevard, and the 2900 blocks of Jones Street and Jennings Street and shall include the reconstruction of the streets totaling approximately 3,450 feet plus new utilities. Construction shall take place in 2025 and 2026. There is an HMA option for this project. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on November 30, 2024 and December 7, 2024. This project has two Sites. Site 00 is the overall project. The 2025 work shall have an early start date of March 31, 2025 and a late start date of April 14, 2025. The 2026 work shall have an early start date of March 30, 2026 and a late start date of April 13, 2026. All Work on Site 00 shall be completed within 260 Working Days. Site 01 is for all work related to the existing 30" watermain internal seal repair work and has an early start date of October 1, 2025 and a late start date of October 15, 2025. All work for Site 01 shall be completed within 25 Working Days. Mr. Bryan Wells ofDGR Engineering presented preliminary project information in emails on May 13, 2022, and July 24 and 29, 2022. The email on May 13, 2022, included an aerial showing the limits ofthe project. The email on June 24,2022, included DGR Submittal Letter and DGRresponse to RFP. The email on June 29,2022, included a Google Earth(R) Map that was titled, "Figure A - 29th Street Reconstruction". Mr. Tom Low of DGR Engineering provided traffic information in an email on September 9, 2022. CTS understands that the work will consist ofthe reconstruction of 29th Street from just west ofJones Street to Cheyenne Blvd, 440 feet ofJones Street north of 29th Street, 440 feet on Jennings Street north of 29th Street, 150 feet south of 29th Street on Jennings Street, Court Street, Iowa Street, Wall Street, and Clark Street, 200 feet north of 29th Street on Park Avenue, and 250 feet on Cheyenne Blvd at the intersection of 29th Street in Sioux City, Iowa. It is also understood that the work will include replacing the utilities. CTS also understands that the sanitary sewer is approximately 10 feet below the existing pavement. It is also understood that the project is approximately 2,300 feet long and both PCC and ACC pavement are being considered. The geotechnical recommendations presented in this report are based on the available project information, project location and the subsurface materials described in this report. If the noted information is incorrect, please inform CTS in writing so that we may amend the recommendations presented in this report, if appropriate. CTS will not be responsible for the implementation of its recommendations when it is not notified of changes in the project.
