Site work for a civil project in Kinston, North Carolina. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of June 6, 2022 the bid received exceeded the amount budgeted for this project and they will not be awarded this project. No timeline established for rebid yet. Install permanent by-pass pumping connections at 8 sanitary sewer lift stations. The scope shall include all work associated with the installation of permanent bypass pumping connections at each of the 8 lift stations. City of Kinston permanent by-pass connection detail sheets are attached to this bid request .A male cam-lock fitting shall replace the blind flange noted on the by-pass connection detail. Two bollards and concrete collars for plug valves are required at each lift station following the complete installation of pumping connection. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete all work stated in the scope. This shall include but not be limited to fittings, valves, piping, bypass pumping, concrete blocking, earthwork, soil erosion and sediment control measures, safety equipment, atmospheric monitoring, dewatering procedures, and all appurtenances necessary to provide a complete installation. Any areas or structures damaged on site shall be repaired to its original conditions by the contractor to include but not limited to; asphalt, concrete, gravel, or areas covered with vegetation. All excavation work shall be in compliance with OSHA trench and excavation standards 29 CFR 1926.651 and 1926.652. Contractor shall obtain a current utility locate ticket prior to excavations at any lift station. The contractor is responsible for coordinating with the City of Kinston regarding force main locations, lift station lockout tag out, and lift station flow control. Absolutely NO work shall be done at ANY lift station without prior consent from the City. Workers Compensation providing statutory limits and Employers liability limits of not less than $500,000.00; General Liability and Vehicle/Equipment Liability with limits not less than $2,000,000.00 per occurrence covering bodily injury and property damage. Contractors shall be licensed to perform all utility work as stated in the scope. Work will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder based on total bid amount. The City of Kinston reserves the right to remove some or all of items listed in the scope of work before awarding bid. Total bid amount will be payable Net 30 as a one-time lump sum payment upon completion of all work. Additional repairs may be added to the scope of work upon agreement between the City and the Contractor, up to 100% of the original bid. The City of Kinston encourages MWBE firms to participate in this bid request. Contractors are to submit with their bid a proof of insurance (COI), a copy of licenses, a minimum of three professional references for equal or similar work, a City of Kinston vendor application, and complete the attached MWBE affidavit. All work shall be completed within 150 days of the effective date on the Notice to Proceed Questions concerning the bid or the scope of work should be directed to Jimmy Garvey at (252)939-3299 or James Sutton at (252)939-3159.
