As of June 20, 2022, the project has been awarded to Landscapes for $206,769.88. An original bid bond must be delivered to the City of Elgin Purchasing Department, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin, IL no later than 12:00 P.M. on May 24, 2022, which sum shall be forfeited in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a binding contract and provide a properly executed contract and surety bond within 15 days after the date the contract is awarded by the City. The proposed improvements include the removal and replacement of a 240 foot long segmental concrete block retaining wall including guardrail improvements, hot-mix asphalt shoulders, associated maintenance of traffic, soil erosion and sediment control and all other appurtenant work and materials necessary to complete the project. The successful bidder and all sub-contractors shall be required to conform to the labor standards set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wage and shall provide certified payrolls to the City for the duration of the project. This project must comply with the Elgin Responsible Bidders Ordinance and Elgin Residency Requirements. The bidder shall submit, if requested by the City, a list of qualified references for projects of similar size and scope of this project. Proposals withdrawn may not be resubmitted at the same letting. Each bidder shall satisfy the City as to their ability, financially or otherwise, to carry out the work. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive technicalities and any informality in any bid.
