This Contract provides for the improvement of the Skyline Pedestrian Bridge over SR16 by painting over the existing graffiti present on the bridge and providing traffic control to perform the work and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. Estimate: $100,000 This project shall be physically completed within 30 working days The City of Tacoma, in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), commits to nondiscrimination on the basis of disability, in all of its programs and activities. The person legally authorized to sign the bid must sign all bid bonds. The approved bid bond form attached to these Specifications should be used: no substantial variations from the language thereof will be accepted. Except as modified by the Special Provisions, the Respondent to whom the Contract is awarded shall provide a payment and performance bond, including power of attorney, for 100 percent of the amount of his/her bid (including sales taxes), to insure complete performance of the Contract including the guarantee. The bonds must be executed by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Washington. For a supply-type contract, a cashier's check or cash may be substituted for the bonds; however, this cash or cashier's check must remain with the City through the guarantee period and any interest on said amount shall accrue to the City. Violation; liability for unpaid wages; liquidated damages. In the event of any violation of the clause set forth in paragraph (B)(1) of this section the contractor and any subcontractor responsible therefor shall be liable for the unpaid wages. In addition, such contractor and subcontractor shall be liable to the United States (in the case of work done under contract for the District of Columbia or a territory, to such District or to such territory), for liquidated damages. Such liquidated damages shall be computed with respect to each individual laborer or mechanic, including watchmen and guards, employed in violation of the clause set forth in paragraph (B)(1) of this section, in the sum of $27 for each calendar day on which such individual was required or permitted to work in excess of the standard workweek of forty hours without payment of the overtime wages required by the clause set forth in paragraph (b)(1) of this section.
